Officer in charge of a Navigational Watch (OOW) – Unlimited COC 2nd Mate, Approved by Transport Malta in cooperation with Maritime MT (duration 3 years) in Athens, Greece

Two years of studies (class based, simulator, practical) & One year sea service as deck cadet on board ocean going vessel flying white listed flag.

This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in table A-II/1 of STCW Code for the following functions at the Operational Level:

  • Navigation
  • Cargo Handling and Stowage
  • Controlling the Operation of the Ship
  • Care for Persons on Board

Course’s entry standards

The course is accredited and approved by Transport Malta, Malta Flag Authority, as per STCW standards.

After successful completion of the course and examination, candidates will acquire the OOW Unlimited COC by Transport Malta
