Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch (OOW), Unlimited COC, issued by Transport Malta in cooperation with Maritime MT

Two (2) years of studies class-based, simulator, practical training for the issuance of certificates required for the provision of Seaman’s Book, ancillary certificates

One (1) year of sea service as a Deck Cadet on board an ocean-going vessel

This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding, and proficiency in table A-II/1 of STCW Code for the following functions at the Operational Level

  • Navigation
  • Cargo Handling and Stowage
  • Controlling the Operation of the Ship
  • Care for Persons on Board

Duration of studies three (3) years in Athens, Greece

Entry Requirements

  • Min 18 years old and Holder of High School Certificate
  • Hold a valid Seafarers Medical Fitness Certificate (IMO/ILO)
  • English Language Certificate

The course is accredited and approved by Transport Malta, Table A-II/1 of STCW Code

On successful completion of the course and examination, the graduate Officer holder of the OOW, Unlimited COC by Transport Malta will be able to work worldwide as a Deck Officer on Vessels of Unlimited Tonnage
