

Aiming to promote and enhance the Arab-Greek relations in various economic, financial and trade sectors the 6th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum, “Greece and the Arab World: Envisioning a shared future”, was held in Athens, November 29 – 30.
The Forum was organized by the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development, whose president Mr. Harris Geronikolas is also the president of the City Unity Educational Group, which was among the sponsors of the event.

Dozens of highly ranked government and business executives had the chance during the 6th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum to discuss important issues such as investment opportunities in the Greek market, the latest technological advancements and their impact on local and world economies.
Energy, construction and building materials, startup businesses as well as shipping and maritime and port industries were among the main topics presented at the 6th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum.
The importance of shipping and maritime industries was well discussed in the Forum as the newly founded Hellenic-Arab Maritime Academy (HAMA), a joint venture by the City Unity College, the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, participated in the conference.

HAMA students’ attendance was a great opportunity and an essential part of their education, as future Deck Officers and Marine Engineers should always keep up to date to new technological and digital advancements.
The forum was also attended by representatives of the Hellenic Maritime Career Center (HMCC), which operates under the umbrella of the Hellenic Arab Maritime Academy.
